With the help of gorilla trekking guides/trackers, you’ll be guided through the jungle to an elevation altitude of 1,160m – 2,607m above sea level, where you’ll find a habituated mountain gorilla family. When you find them, you’ll be allowed only 60 minutes with these creatures and make sure you follow the guidelines and maximize your time with them. These gorillas have been a habituated by experts to allow you spend time with them, so there’s no immediate danger with them – besides, you’ll have protection with you.

Day 1: – Fly from Entebbe – Kisoro
Transfer from the hotel to Entebbe International Airport for Aerolink flight to Kihihi. The Uganda Gorilla Trekking flight gives you a spectacular view of western Uganda from above – beautiful landscape of mountains, hills with cultivated terraces, tropical rainforest and bamboo forest and the majestic chain of the Virunga Volcanoes. Picked up from Kihihi Airstrip by our safari guide and be transferred to the lodge.

Day 2: Uganda Gorilla Trekking Day
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred by our guide to the Headquarters of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Once there you will first receive a briefing and at 8.00am and then start the tracking. Once you have found the gorillas, you will be able to spend an hour with them. Your time in the forest cannot be pre-determined as every day is different from that previous. On your return to your vehicle you will proceed directly the lodge and relax as you reflect on the day’s events.

Day 3: Fly from Kisoro – Entebbe
Early in the morning after breakfast you will be transferred to Kisoro Airstrip and connect to your flight back home

Gorilla Permits
Gorilla trekking permits are issued by UWA at US $600 per person per trek. Without the gorilla permit, you’ll not be allowed to trek these gentle giants.
In this gorilla trekking safari package we acquire the permit on your behalf at no cost because we know that acquiring one can be so hectic to the foreigner especially during peak season.
When to go gorilla trekking?
Although it’s regarded as a year-round activity, the best time to visit Uganda for gorilla trekking is during the country’s two dry seasons: January and February and from June to September. These are the typical peak seasons for Uganda Safaris.
