On this amazing 3 Days Rwanda Chimpanzee safari takes you to Nyungwe Forest, a vast montane forest found in the South West of Rwanda which is recognised as a huge forest in central Africa with over 10000sq.km. This forest is found at a relatively high attitude with a rugged steep slope and while there you can visit some cultural sites like the Museum in Butare and the palace in Nyanza. The drive from Kigali to Nyungwe Forest lasts up to 5hrs.
On this amazing Rwanda Chimpanzee Safari you will experience the amazing rain forest with its famous primates in large groups including: colobus monkeys, chimpanzees, butterflies and a rich variety of orchids. Nyugwe Forest has over with 13 different primate species; the Common Chimpanzee, Adolf Friedrich’s Angola Colobus, L’Hoest’s Monkey, Silver Monkey, Golden Monkey, Hamlyn’s Monkey, Red-tailed Monkey, Dent’s Mona Monkey, Vervet Monkey, Olive Baboon, Grey-cheeked Mangabey and 300 bird species, 1080 plant species and over 85 mammal species.

Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
After an early breakfast, commence on your Nyungwe Chimpanzee Safari as you are transferred to the amazing Nyungwe Forest National Park. This drive takes about 5 hours. Make stops at local markets, the traditional palace in Nyanza. Continue to Butare, visit the Botanical Gardens and the cultural museum. Pass through green fields of tea scattered across the hillsides and the small unique wooden houses surrounding Nyungwe Forest, on arrival check into the lodge for an overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking
Have an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing. With a park ranger enter the forest for Chimpanzee tracking. Enjoy chimpanzee viewing as they swing from tree to tree, branch to branch and the little ones feeding on fruits or hiding behind their mothers. Follow them from nest to nest till you have had your full.While in the forest you will catch glimpses of other primates and mammal species including Adolf Friedrich’s Angola Colobus, L’Hoest’s Monkey, Silver Monkey, Golden Monkey, Hamlyn’s Monkey, Red-tailed Monkey, Dent’s Mona Monkey, Vervet Monkey, Olive Baboon, Grey-cheeked Mangabey and 300 bird species, 1080 plant species and over 85 mammal species.
Later you will enjoy the Canopy walk or the waterfall trail walk in the forest as a wonderful experience with a beautiful scenery large, centuries old trees and the added thick forest, and this extra ordinary tropical forest.This bridge is 60m above the forest floor and 90m long walk, adjourned between the huge trees the freshness in the air and the wonderful aerial view of the trees, you will also enjoy the sights of the fantastic birds that fly across as you enjoy the walk. Later return to the lodge for an overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Kigali
Early in the morning after breakfast you will be transferred to Kigali with lunch enroute and connect to your flight back home
