Masai Mara and Zanzibar Island Getaway

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi and transfer to Naivasha

Arrival into Nairobi where you will be greeted by our local representative and begin your Masai Mara and Zanzibar Island Getaway Safari as you drive to Lake Naivasha. This is a stunning road trip with lots of opportunity for you to stop for photos. The journey will take approximately three hours.

On arrival in Lake Naivasha you will settle into your hotel and enjoy a hearty lunch after which you will have the afternoon and evening to enjoy safari activities.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park

With an early breakfast this morning you will start your journey to Lake Nakuru National Park on your Masai Mara and Zanzibar Island Getaway Safari as you head out with your guide for an excursion to Lake Nakuru National Park. This park is famous for the large numbers of flamingos but is also a great location to see rhino.

Day 3: Transfer to Masai Mara National Park

Have an early breakfast and be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to the Masai Mara, on arrival you will be met by your driver-guide  who will take you on a game drive . Depending on the arrival time of your flight, it is likely there will be time for a full afternoon game drive to start exploring this fantastic region.

Day 4: Full Day in Masai Mara National Park

After breakfast you will head out and enjoy morning and afternoon game drives from your camp today. As the camp is situated in a private conservancy within the Mara the number of camps and vehicles here is strictly limited giving you by far the best safari experience away from the busier areas of the park.

Day 5: Full day in Masai Mara National Park

With an early morning breakfast, you will enjoy the early mornings of your Masai Mara and Zanzibar Island Getaway Safari. The Masai Mara is big cat country so keep your eyes peeled for lion, cheetah and of course the elusive leopard, the wildlife in the Masai Mara is some of the best in East Africa so be sure to tell your guide if there is something you want to explore within your wildlife goals.

Enjoy an evening Game drive and return to the lodge in the late morning to relax at the camp, letting the heat of the day slip away before heading out on an afternoon  game drive.

Day 6: Transfer to Zanzibar Island

With an early morning final game drive, you will head to the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi. On arrival in Nairobi you will be greeted and transferred to the international airport ready to fly on to Zanzibar where a driver and private vehicle will be waiting to escort you across the island to the beautiful palm-fringed East Coast.

Day 7: Explore Zanzibar Island

With a late morning, you can spend your time here doing as much or as little as you like. If you want to relax, there’s a lovely spa where you can enjoy a massage, and there are plenty of places to relax in the sun or shade by the pool or on the beach. If you’re feeling more active, you can enjoy diving and snorkelling on the nearby reefs, sailing, or windsurfing. Zanzibar Island is an ideal destination for honeymooners with the white sand beaches for chilling and unwinding.

Day 8: Explore Zanzibar Island

With a late breakfast,you can opt to go visit one of our favorite things to do in Zanzibar is to visit one of the small-scale spice farms on the island – it’s a really hands-on experience, tasting and smelling the spices for which the island is famous.You can also opt to sleep in and rendezvous at the hotel as you enjoy the breeze with your spouse to make memorable experiences.

Day 9: Explore Zanzibar Island

You can choose to go and to explore another area in Zanzibar, the enchanting Jozani Forest where you can see the rare red Kirk’s colobus monkeys. These monkeys are endemic to the island and are really entertaining to watch leap and play in the trees. Relax and unwind at the beaches of Zanzibar

Day 10: Explore Zanzibar Island

Explore the Island with something completely different to the beach, you could head into Stone Town  – the town is located on the west coast and is a busy and bustling town. You can hire a guide to help you explore the narrow alleyways and cobbled streets, learning about the town’s unique history as a centre of colonial exploration and of the East African slave-trade. It’s also a great opportunity to pick up any souvenirs.

Day 11: Transfer to Zanzibar Airport and departure

With a late breakfast you will drive to Zanzibar Airport with an en-route lunch and  slowly winding your way back for your evening departure flight.
